About Popejoy

Mark as born in Southern California, but moved to Northwest Arkansas in April of 1993. Centerton had two roads, a blinking yellow light, one gas station and a dual movie rental and pizza restaurant with very little else.

At the time, Bentonville was the size of today’s Centerton. Mark has spent more than three decades watching the growth, not just in NWA but specifically, in Centerton. He has been simply amazed to see how far it has come.

Professionally, Mark is a creative leader with more than 20 years of experience in brand strategy, storytelling, and building high-performing teams. His career has taken him to the highest levels of American commerce. working with global names like Walmart, Sam's Club, Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, the NBA, McDonald's, Tyson, Johnson & Johnson, Clorox, and American Airlines, but his heart has always been right here in Centerton.

Mark brings a rare combination to this race: real-world experience driving results for complex, large-scale organizations, and the deep community roots that come from truly knowing the people he wants to serve. He is a storyteller, a collaborator, a relationship-builder, and a strategic thinker, and he is ready to put every one of those skills to work for the residents of Ward 1.

He has spent his career making sure the right message reaches the right people at the right time. On the City Council, he will do the same, making sure your voice reaches the decision-makers who shape our city's future.

His wife, Dr. Erin Popejoy, is an Associate Professor at the University of Arkansas, and they have three children, Jaykub, 26, Taylor, 18, and Madelyn 6. All have been through the Bentonville school district.
